The Sin of Publishing Suspicions

Dear honorable Sheikh, is it a sin to share suspicions about Islam?

Yes, it is a major sin.

Some people share these things just for fun.

My dear, let me tell you, we have many major sins; i.e. killing, zina (illegitimate sexual intercourse). The greatest sin is:

“…and to say about Allah what you do not know” (Al-Baqarah 2:169)

I remember, it happened that one of our scholars from Ash-Sham was in Egypt.

He witnessed the death of one of Egypt’s great scholars.

The Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar, the greatest religious position.

He swore, “When the Grand Sheikh of Al-Azhar was on his deathbed, he raised his hands and said: “Oh my Lord,

I’m innocent of banking fatwas.” The greatest scholar in the Islamic world

On his deathbed, raised his hands to Allah and said that he is innocent from these banking fatwas!

By this he means giving fatwa without knowledge. By the way, a person may give fatwa without knowledge.

But who is the true sinful? It is he who gives fatwas inconsistent with the truth he already knows.

He knows the truth, even though he gives fake fatwas.

For the sake of an interest.. The Qur’an reads, “Those who convey the messages of Allah and fear Him and do not fear anyone but Allah” (Al-Ahzab 33:39)

When the scholar or the mufti fears anyone but Allah, he speaks falsely and flatteringly

And ignores the truth out of fear, his da`wah is no more valid.

What is the fundamental attribute of a scholar?

It is to be knowledgeable of what he is versed in.

So, if he is not knowledgeable, he is not a scholar anymore.

Why cars are called cars? Because they walk on wheels

“Those who convey the messages of Allah and fear Him” is one attribute and “and do not fear anyone but Allah” is another

When the scholar or the mufti fears anyone but Allah, he speaks falsely and flatteringly and ignores the truth out of fear.

Then, his da`wah is no more valid.
