The happiest and dearest moments for the believer are when death approaches them
After this time, the believer will have no more distress
In an authentic hadith, it is reported that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) suffered the agonies of death, Fatimah (May Allah be pleased with her) said: ‘Oh, how distressed my father is!’ He (peace be upon him) He said, ‘Your father will have no more distress after today.”
The loving Prophet met his Beloved – Allah
The believer met Who he loved to meet
How greatly he waited to meet the Beneficent!
How greatly he waited to move to Paradise
There, my brothers, the angels will descend upon this righteous servant
giving him the good tidings of reward from Allah. He has loved to meet Allah, so Allah too loved to meet him.
In an authentic hadith, it is reported that when the time of the death of a believer approaches, the angels descend upon him giving him the good news of Allah’s reward. So, he loves to meet Allah, and Allah too loves to meet him.”
When the time of the death – with its pangs and agony – approaches a believer, he is either a doer of good (happy) or a doer of bad (wretched)
Abu Hazim once visited Sulaiman ibn Abd Al-Malik, Sulaiman said, ‘Oh Abu Hazim! What would it be like when we meet with Allah?’
He (may Allah have mercy on him) said, “As for the one who has been doing good deeds, he will meet Allah like the man who returns from a travel to his loved ones, while the one who has been doing evil deeds will appear like the slave who had run away and has now been brought back to his master.”
When appears to the believer the fate preordained for him, the angels descend upon him giving him the good news of Allah’s pleasures and forgiveness with him
He sees Paradise has been destined for him as he then desperately hoped to be in the presence of Allah, the King of Kings
To be in the presence of the Lord of the Worlds; to Paradise
To meet the truthful, the martyrs, and the righteous
They gave him the glad tidings of meeting with Allah, so he loved to meet Allah
About these moments Allah said in the Qur’an:
He (Exalted be He) says: “(As for) those who say: Our Lord is Allah, then continue in the right way, the angels descend upon them, saying: Fear not, nor be grieved, and receive good news of the Paradise which you were promised. We were your allies in worldly life and are so in the Hereafter. And you will have therein whatever your souls desire, and you will have therein whatever you ask for.” (Fussilat :41:30-31)
When death approaches the believer, he grieves for departing his sons
Looking at his children, he fears for a bad future for them
He fears they wouldn’t find a helping hand after his death
He fears they would experience misery or pass through hardships
Then his heart grieves as rolls his eyes then… shifting to what awaits him. He fears the horrors and punishments of the Day of Resurrection
At this moment he is given the news of what they will receive from Allah –
There’s no fear of your destiny
There’s no fear of meeting with Allah
And don’t grieve for departing your sons and offspring
Oh Lord!
Allah (Exalted be He) guaranteed the one who obeyed Him that He will protect his offspring even after his departure!
