The E-Da`wah Committee (EDC) Condemns Christchurch Mosque Shootings

The EDC once again confirms that terrorism does not have a religion.

“To God we belong and to God we are returning.”

The E-Da`wah Committee (EDC) affiliated to Al-Najat Charity Society in Kuwait, received with sadness the reports about the tragic mass shooting at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand.

The attack happened during the weekly Friday prayer. Those gathered in the mosque did not know that this Friday prayer was their last Friday and their last moments in this world when a terrorist decided to kill them. Among the mosque goers were women and children.

The EDC asks God the Almighty to grant all the victims the highest Paradise and accept them among the martyrs.

The EDC also prays to God to give complete healing and serenity to all survivors and the family and friends of the victims.

The EDC confirms that the shooting is due to Islamophobia and hatred speech. This is high time to stop the hatred speech and stand together against all acts of terror and violence.

Those who are involved in such horrible crimes are violating the fundamental teachings of human rights which teach the sanctity of life and forbid the desecration of places of worship whether they are churches, mosques or a synagogues.

Islam is all about peace and tolerance. Islam respects all people regardless of their faith, color, or nationality. Prophet Muhammad was sent as a mercy to the worlds.

The EDC once again confirms that terrorism does not have a religion.

The EDC calls Muslims around the globe especially in Austrial and New Zealand to remain calm and react peacefully through legal channels to stop these acts of terror against all people from different faith communities.
