In order to motivate people to hasten to the good doing and worship, the Almighty God has singled out specific places and times with additional honor and reward. The differentiation and preference of such places or times over the others serve to wake up people’s energy and resolutions towards the pleasure of God. Moreover, this prevents boredom, and revives one’s activity to utilize these times to get closer to God and increase their rewards.
Having this in mind, we would like to bring good news to the dear reader that the best days all over the year are these first 10 days of Dhul-Hijjah, which already started today. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in a hadith narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim, “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” The people asked, “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah?” He said, “Not even jihad for the sake of Allah, except in the case of a man who went out to fight giving himself and his wealth up for the cause, and came back with nothing.”
