According to Wikipedia, evolution is a change in the heritable characteristics of biological populations over successive generations. These characteristics are the expressions of genes that are passed on from parent to offspring during reproduction. Different characteristics tend to exist within any given population as a result of mutations, genetic recombination and other sources of genetic variation. Evolution occurs when evolutionary processes such as natural selection (including sexual selection) and genetic drift act on these variations, resulting in certain characteristics becoming more common or rare within a population. It is this process of evolution that has given rise to biodiversity at every level of biological organization, including the levels of species, individual organisms, and molecules.
In this video, Sheikh Yasir Qadhi refutes Usama Hasan’s claim that Adam (peace and blessings be upon him) was born to non-human parents. Yasir Qadhi is of the view that there is nothing Islamically objectionable to the theory that animals and species evolved.
However, this cannot be true for Adam (peace and blessings be upon him) and humans as there are explicit and unambiguous texts from the Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) informing us that Adam (peace and blessings be upon him) was created directly by God and without any parents.
Join us in to see how Sheikh Yasir Qadhi refutes the claims of evolution as regards with the creation of mankind as attested to by the Ever-Glorious Qur’an.
