Allah (Exalted be He) has eternally created all creatures before time began
Offering the trust to them as the Qur’an reads:
“Indeed, We did offer the trust (of volitional faith) to the heavens and the earth and the mountains.” (Al-Ahzab 33:72)
What is this “trust”, Dr?
It means that man accepts to take full responsibility for himself. Here’s the proof:
“He will indeed be successful who purifies it, and he will indeed fail who corrupts it.” (Ash-Shams 91:9-10)
Thus, eternally, the trust was offered to all creation but they declined to bear it and were afraid of it; but man bore it
Angels chose wisdom, and animals chose instinct
Thus, the angel was composed of wisdom without instincts, and the animal was composed of instincts without wisdom while man is a combination of the two
Thus, if man’s wisdom overcomes his desires, they are becoming purer than angels, and when desires overcome wisdom, they are becoming less than animals
The point is that man came into this world accepting to bear the trust; Allah gave him the basic abilities to bear it
He gave him instincts, body, mind, and gave him the choice of free will
That’s man – animals will not be called to account; they are not held accountable before God that they chose instincts
Likewise, the angel will not be brought to account; they chose wisdom only while man chose the two: desires and mind
If his wisdom overcomes his desires, he becomes better than the angels, and if desires overcome his wisdom, he becomes less than animals
In the sight of Allah (Exalted be He, Lord of the worlds), if man messes up, he initially had been given the choice
He was given the choice; as the Qur’an reads, “Surely We have shown him the way: be he grateful or be he ungrateful” (Al-Insan 76:3))
“whoever wills – let him believe; and whoever wills – let him disbelieve.” (Al-Kahf 18:29)
Man had been given the choice
Though, if you, as a merciful parent, see your child making a bad choice, like not to complete his education
If you left him to his inevitable fate; i.e. ignorance, he, on the Day of Judgment, will blame you, “Father, why didn’t you warn me?”
Glory be to Allah
So, it’s a necessity to warn those who go wrong
That’s what calamities are for; they come as a warning.
